Walker CityFest Independence Day Festival
WALKER – Celebrate an old-fashioned Independence Day with live music, water
slides, a craft fair, fireworks and more at the City of Walker’s CityFest.
The Summer Craft Fair begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 30, with the rest of the patriotic festival kicking off at 4 p.m. All activities take place at Sidney Hutchinson Park, 13750 Ball Park Road. Admission is free.
Families are invited to tailgate in the park all afternoon. Bring your barbecue pit, your ice chest, your volleyball net or game or horseshoes and come hang out in one of the most beautiful spots in Walker. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the park.
Activities include tethered hot-air balloon rides, train rides, water slides, inflatables, live music, a display of historical military memorabilia and more.
Handcrafted and other items will be for sale at the Summer Craft Fair, including hair bows and flowers, clothes, embroidered items, jewelry, candles, decorative items, gourmet foods and more. Booths are available to vendors for just $50.
A Taste of Walker will feature favorite Livingston Parish eateries. In addition to traditional festival fare like snowballs and funnel cakes, we’ll also feature items from restaurants like Rotolo’s, Don’s Seafood, LaFleur’s Jr., Garcia’s Taco & Grill and more.
At dark, you can park your lawn chairs, blankets or tents and watch exploding colors light up the sky in a spectacular fireworks show.
CityFest is sponsored by Our Lady of the Lake Livingston; Rotolo’s; Thornton, Musso & Bellemin Water Treatment Consultants; Government Consultants; and Strand Energy. For all the details about the CityFest celebration, go to cityfest.walker.la.us.
