RICKS ANNOUNCES NEW TURN LANE AT NEW LIVE OAKS HIGH SCHOOL
Livingston Parish President Layton Ricks announced a new turn lane will be constructed on Hwy 16 at the entrance of the new Live Oak High School.
“This is a win-win situation for everyone involved,” said Ricks. “The biggest winners in this announcement are the students and school visitors who take advantage of the safety of a dedicated turn lane.”
Ricks said this was a true partnership between Sen. Dale Erdey, the Louisiana Department of Transportation, the Livingston Parish Council and his office.
Sen. Dale Erdey was the lead on this project when he got the Department of Transportation to build the turn-lane in front of Live Oak High School in exchange for the parish government to agree to maintain portions of two smaller roads in the parish.
The Livingston Parish Council agreed to the terms of the agreement at their meeting on June 14.
“Because of everyone working together, the school system and the parish gets a much needed turn lane in front of Live Oak High School,” said Ricks.
